Holy Prior Lake Piano, Batman! Can you believe it’s been almost a year since John Keane has posted anything on this Blog? Well Robin, you know, he’s a “busy man” and a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do. Yes, Batman but fer Chrissake, a year?! No Robin, almost a year… Call Ripley’s and tell ’em!
Greetings Reader,
Over the last year, I’ve done a fair number of piano action restorations and refurbishings for customers with old family heirloom upright pianos. I’ve always had a soft spot for these behemoths as many of them were fine instruments in their day. It’s been encouraging to see more people deciding to keep their lovely old uprights and have them put into reasonable playing condition. Many of these instruments are neglected, abandoned or simply disposed of. Some are beyond repair but can still be re-purposed as shop workbenches or even made into desks, entertainment centers etc.( http://www.pianodesk.com ). Check out what this guy is doing with old uprights which are FUBAR. Many thanks to my customers who have allowed me to breathe new life into their old upright pianos!
